Evidently the genuine-life Adrian Cronauer, on whom tale was based, wasn’t almost as ludicrous or shocking as Williams. Maria Full of Grace: Magnificent film in reference to a seventeen-year-old Colombian gal, displeased with her blind alley life, who acknowledges a job as a “mule,” absorbing packets of medications and smuggling them into the U.S. She has no notion what fibs in store for her and neither do we. There is no artifice in debuting author-controller Marston’s presentation of the tale, nor is there a sensation of “performing” in some of the utterly believable behaviors. Cast includes Catalina Sandino Moreno, Wilson Guerrero, Jenny Paola Vega, John Alex Toro, Jaime Osorio Gomez, and Patricia Rae. (101 minutes, 2004)

Down With Love: Spoof of I960s Doris Night-Stone Hudson comedies has Zellweger as the writer of a most popular novel on girl liberty in a battle of the genders with playboy/publication author McGregor. Andrew Constitutions’ lush, over the top Hollywood-fantasy production layout is the genuine megastar here; everything else is heavy handed and shallow, a self-consciously synthetic burlesque of an already lightweight film genre. Cast includes Renee Zellweger, Ewan McGregor, David Hyde’ Perforate, Sarah Paulson, Tony Randall, Lei Ryan, and Rachel Dratch. (94 minutes, 2003)

The Day the Earth Caught Fire: Knowledgeable, sponging up sci-fi tirade of steady havoc that follows while atomic eruptions start the world corkscrewing toward the sun. Judd is the journalist who first cracks the tale, with the help of Munro whom he romances. Watch for Michael Caine as a cop prompting visitors! Cast includes Edward Judd, Janet Munro, Leo McKern, Michael Goodwin, and Bernard Braden. (99 minutes, 1961)

The Competition: 2 youthful pianists, contending for the identical treasure, fall in love. Nothing much more than that, however smoothly finished, with some phenomenal piano “faking.” Screenwriter Oliansky’s prompting debut PGT. Cast includes Richard Dreyfuss, Amy Irving, Lee Remick, Sam Wanamaker, Joseph Cali, Ty Henderson, Priscilla Indicator, and James B. Sikking.(129 minutes, 1980)

The Gatling Gun: Cavalry, rebel cadets, Apaches, quarrel over a Gun. Cast includes Man Stockwell, Woody Sttode, Patrick Wayne, Robert Fuller, Barbara Luna, John Carradine, Pat Buttram, and Phil Harris. (93 minutes, 1972)

Miami Rhapsody: Youthful female is scared of carrying out to matrimony, given the tumult of her parents’ and siblings’ domestic lives. Only complication is that she might appear to halt mentioning it. Light comedy, with earnest undertones, nearly sinks under the mass of chat: a persistent flow of one-line, sitcom-fashion antics. The Replacements: Stupid, by-the-numbers games comedy in reference to a lot of has-beens, eccentrics, and losers who are enlisted by tutor Hackman as substitute competitors in the wake of a pro-football strike. If you seriously desire to see Hackman play a tutor, lease the basketball tirade Hoosiers. Cast includes Keanu Reeves, Gene Hackman, Brooke Langton, Orlando Jones, Jon Favreau, Jack Warden, Faizon Love, and Brett Cullen. (118 minutes, 2000)
