Secrets To Purchase A Domain URL Name
Wednesday, August 31st, 2011Do you want to know How To Buy A Domain Name?
Your kidding, right?
Like you don’t already know this stuff? What, were you born in the dark ages or just not paying much attention during Marketing 101?
It’s simple.
Follow the purchasing options on a domain host like GoDaddy, Host Gator or Blue Host and your done.
Voila.
Done.
You’re still here? Be gone.
What’s that?
You’re wanting my deeper secrets? Smarty. I did just tell you exactly how to buy a domain name but I didn’t tell you how to buy a high powered, results oriented, traffic gobbling, all consuming, hot spit fire domain name. That’s because that is supposed to be a secret.
This is the scoop.
Finding a niche is your first step.
Don’t be ridiculous. Now you want to know what defines a niche?
Okay, it’s a focused target, a point of interest, a reason for being, and you’re guiding light. This can be focused around what you are already doing or instead something you desire to be doing.
Keyword research is the proper next step after defining your niche.
Hey, get back here.
Things you are interested in within this research include the total number of exact searches that are happening monthly, the strength of your competitions on page information, the backlink power that your competition is wielding and especially if there is a .COM, .ORG or .NET domain name extension available.
Uncovering the perfect domain name as it relates to traffic and competition won’t serve you well if one of the preferred domain extensions is not also available for that domain. It’s true that other extensions may be available but I don’t consider them worth my time to pursue.
With the above in hand return to the top of the article and follow those instructions to successfully secure your desired domain name. This is the information I covered early on so go back and read it while I prepare to write yet another article on Marketing 101.
Oh, and for the record on the off chance that you enjoyed this article go read the related content I created about the power of blogging in my Marketing 101 course titled “9 Online Marketing 101 Tips For Your Blog.” And if you didn’t happen to enjoy the article may I ask what in living blazes you are doing still reading the content?
