The virtual world of Internet and web has fulfilled the dream of many of converting the world to a global village. The idea of the global village was to have a peaceful world, with no borders and no limitations. This idea was fulfilled with telecommunication and the Internet. Messages take seconds to reach to other parts of the world. Information about a topic appears with the blink of an eye and is free for use through internet. The internet information base is so wide and spread world wide that there is hardly a topic in the world on which you cannot find information.
Libraries have been replaced by e-libraries. The people of the world have access to this wide knowledge base irrespective of their nationality, age, race, religion or ethnicity.
One such advancement is the introduction of search engines. They simply work as catalogs for searching information on the web with extremely fast retrieval services despite the vastness of its resources. However, finding the right information and searching the web via search engines is quite a mammoth task.
It is better in the sense that the access for information is world wide, it keeps expanding and searching it is a matter of seconds.
But again, searching the web via search engines is the ‘in’ thing these days because it saves time and web engines are up to date with the latest technology and advancements in different subjects in the world.
Before I go into describing a few tricks on using search engines to collect information, I would like to say a few things about the working of search engines. No one knows which algorithm search engines use to bring back results since most search engines are secretive about the techniques they use to search the web.
They can even see through fake websites with not much quality content. The exact working of a search engine is not known since search engine do not publish the way they conduct searches since they have to compete with other search engines in the market. However, all search engines use the keywords entered by the user to search through web pages on the internet.
Search engines use keywords written by user in their search and compare exact matches and the density at which they appear on a web page. The density measure varies from search engine to search engine. However, while searching make sure you use ‘plus’ operator instead of ‘and’ and try not to use prepositions, articles or helping verbs and search engines ignore that.
Always use short words in your searches. Never use whole sentences and search engine tend to ignore certain words like prepositions, articles and helping verbs. Use a ‘plus” sign operator instead which usually signifies ‘and’.
Also, for prepositions, articles and helping verbs using the ‘plus’ operator instead of the preposition, article or helping verb. These are a few techniques that can help you in getting the right results while searching the web via search engines. However, it would take you some practice to pull out the right results for yourself.
It is a pretty good chance that you’ve ended up with theories instead of facts, unless you are search for theories. Always conduct the same search on different search engines with same keywords to check the consistency of results. You can end up with incorrect information and we don’t want that to happen. Do we?
Pulling up a list of search engines you can see that even specialized search engines are now out there. Video Search Engines If you do an advanced search, you may be able to eliminate these sites by telling the search engine to skip them. This tells Goodsearch that you want to raise money for this charity.

Getting affordable advertising mileage by means of promotional products should never be ignored by any promotional marketer. Distributing personalized travel tumblers and thermoses can surely contribute to the success of any advertising campaign. They are convenient, have a large imprint area for better logo visibility, and provide constant brand exposure. Above all, they’re eco-friendly.
Brand exposure does not end after distributing custom travel mugs and thermoses. In fact, that is only the beginning. They can easily act as your moving advertisements. Everyone uses travel tumblers and thermoses wherever you go. They are used to start the day with a cup of either hot coffee or chocolate in offices. You see them in picnics, camping trips and other outdoor activities. Imagine your company logo being printed on these and seen by hundreds of people nearly everywhere.
Give out as many personalized travel tumblers and thermoses as you can to as many consumers during your event.
Traditional business gifts have a short life of usefulness. Pens, after some time, will dry up and be thrown away. Sticky note pads will eventually be used up. Logo calendars will be taken down from the wall once the year ends. Such is not the case with travel tumblers and thermoses. They can be used and reused. Brand exposure is gained each time the travel mugs and thermoses are brought along and used. That’s affordable recurring advertising for you for a long period of time.
Logo thermoses and travel mugs are not only advertising tools but are thoughtful and meaningful tokens of appreciation as well. Show your valued customers that you value their loyalty to your firm and make them a part of your holiday gift list. Bolster your relationships with your employees by handing out logo travel tumblers during events like company activities and similar occasions. Give out as many travel mugs and thermoses as you can to as many consumers during trade shows, expos and conferences.
In addition, not only is this a great way of saying thank you for attending the event but also the attendee leaves with a great corporate gift that will make a good first impression on your brand name and business. Not to mention, companies that make a good impression are always bound to impress even the hardest of clients.
You need not spend a fortune when purchasing travel tumblers and thermoses. There are thousands of styles and models that come in different shapes, sizes and capacities that will fit every budget. Before buying, always remember to make up your mind on which dealer you would like to go with. There are dozens of websites selling promotional travel mugs and thermos. You can also search for “promotional products” using your preferred search engine.

Our friendships can have quite an influence on how we live our lives. There’s a tangible link between the way we behave and the men and women we have friendships with. And yet we’re likely to have presumed this commonality concerned our likes and dislikes - for example we enjoy the same musical tastes as our friends, or hold similar political views.
It’s now becoming apparent as well that this common theme might extend to weight. We will eat more when in the company of good friends who eat more. A small study undertaken in America found that overweight kids and teenagers ate more when they were eating with a friend who was also overweight, than when they ate with a normal weight child.
It appeared in fact that everyone in the study got through more food when with friends than with strangers. But it was when the heavier friends teamed up that the most calories were consumed. The research was featured in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. It illustrated the part friends play in the actions of each other.
Certainly, it’s human nature to feel more secure in our actions when we’re amongst friends. We’re not so self-aware with people we like and know well. But there’s possibly more to it than that - we intuitively view friends as permission givers. We grant them the right to define acceptability - in this case in relation to food quantities.
The study took 65 young people of mixed weights and observed them for 45 minutes. There were pairs of friends, and pairs of strangers. They were given games to entertain themselves, along with snack food, fruit and veg.
All the ones who teamed up with a friend ate a larger amount than the rest. However it was the pairs who were both overweight who consumed the most in total. And the variations were considerable, as shown below.
Nearly seven hundred and fifty calories per person was consumed by the larger pairs of friends. Heavy kids with standard weight chums ate just under 450 cals, and standard weight kids ate approx 500 cals whatever weight their mate was. This influence extends to smoking and drinking as well with young teens.
This led the researchers to suggest that young people’s eating habits are largely determined by their social network. Yet this power of association can be beneficial, as positive influences are just as possible as negative ones. Healthy nutrition then should be part of every child’s curriculum.

So you’ve seen the articles everywhere about how Mike Dillard’s Magnetic Sponsoring book and program can help you improve your online marketing business and make more money. Does it sound like a bunch of hype? I thought it did when I first ran into it, but there’s more to it than first meets the eye.
You see, this book is about sponsoring new reps in the MLM and network marketing arenas without spending money of your own. That’s a pretty attention getting proposition - learning to sponsor new reps for free. If that’s true, any one of use would be interested in increasing our bottom lines without having to lay out capital.
It can be awfully hard to generate quality leads, and we all know it from experience. This is an inexpensive book that can solve that problem without taking too long. In only two hours, you can read the book and pick up the basics, and in another hour, you’ll fully absorb all the information you need from Magnetic Sponsoring.
You’ll be impressed by Mike’s ability to deliver on his promises in Magnetic Sponsoring, and to exceed them. Here’s a short explanation of things I’ve learned.
Chapter one is about showing you characteristics of the world’s achievers. These are the people we all look up to and try to emulate. Once we know about the major factors that make them who they are, we can take those factors and use them in our own lives.
Using Mike’s techniques can allow us to become what he refers to as an Alpha - a true achiever. That might seem like common sense, but it really isn’t. Most people don’t do this, and implementing the idea is harder than you might think. That’s where Magnetic Sponsoring can help.
After attempting to employ these characteristics in my life, I’ve noticed real changes, and there’s a good chance you will to. You may find your phone leads being more responsive, or you may have more luck finding the prospects that really are interested. The book itself is worth the cover price just for this information, but that’s not all that it has to teach us.
We can also learn why selling ourselves and not our businesses is so very important. When we do sell our businesses, we need to do it with more than just our products. We need to sell the system we use. This has really changed how I think about things.
I can’t also tell you that you can effortlessly attract new sponsors just by using a system that attracts people already in your industry. You can target people with a known interest in purchasing. That means anyone in network marketing really needs to check this book out.
If you’re not sure yet, there’s only one option. You have to take a little time to find out about Magnetic Sponsoring and what it can do for you. See what a difference it can make, then make the decision on your own.

A portrait, also known as a portraiture, is a photo centering on a person or small groups facial expression while they are in a still position. The personality, mood and likeness of the person or group will be presented. Portrait photography does not always have to have just the face in the picture, the whole body and background can be included as well. When taking a portrait photo the person or group is generally looking strait at the camera.
Unlike other styles of photography, portrait photography doesn’t usually include models. Graduations, special events and weddings are types of occasions where portrait photography is used, and later displayed in private homes.
History of Portrait Photography
People have been using portrait photography ever since the camera was invented. It was, and is more inexpensive way then having your portrait painted and it is a more available method. Natural light was used from an open window and people would sit against the background. Portrait photography can now be more creative with the way technology has evolve since they can adjust light and move around more.
Styles
Portrait photographs can be done in a studio where the photographer can adjust the light when capturing portraits. They can change the direction and the intensity. Different lighting terms are kicker lights, fill lights, background lights and the main light. The most important light source is obviously referred to the main light. The main light is generally positioned above or below the subject and at a 45 degree angle. The main light can create shadows so the fill light helps to eliminate them. The kicker light is the light that brightens up the hair of a subject. This will help to add depth and to show the separation from the subject and the background. A Background light brightens the background and can add effects to the backdrops.

Added to attire, cufflinks look great. Every man who wants to look sharp should have them in their wardrobe. This is often not the case but should be for every man.
Recently, cufflinks have become so popular in status that some believe they should be picked out before anything else, and after this your shirt and tie should be picked to match them. Of course they should be thought of as being a necessary accessory for anyone who dresses fashionably.
Look at photographs in magazines and newspapers of those best dressed, often attending gala dinners, Oscar award ceremonies, opening nights and similar events. You’ll see most of the men there wearing designer suits with this accessory.
It is however, not only the rich and famous who are wearing cufflinks. Gone are the days when you had to own a Bentley with your own chauffeur to be seen wearing them. Most men with any fashion sense are wearing them to add that touch of class to the finishing look of their attire. They can set off the whole outfit if chosen correctly. A fine finishing touch.
You must have a nice shirt… no, the perfect shirt and the best, and most stylish men’s suit you can afford. Black suit and good cuflinks is, always has been and probably always will be the correct contrast.
Cufflinks are available in a lot of forms, designs, colors and materials in almost every way you could think of. You can purchase gold or silver styled items. Cufflinks can look like mini ipods, circles, squares, as well as being checkered or barcoded.
Anything imaginable may be found in the varying designs, those in the shape of dartboards in miniature and those indicating perhaps your passion for poker, drinking, movies, golf, tennis, dominoes or soccer may be found, if you can think of it, you likely can find it. You can even have them custom made in the form of miniature replicas of your home.
To be taken seriously though, the design of your cufflinks, if anything other than classic style, should be subtle. You will spoil your whole attire if you are smartly dressed in an Armani suit with silk shirt and tie, and a pair of giant beer mug cufflinks dangling from your sleeves. Not good. There is so much to choose from but like I say, keep it subtle.

There are many people who read most of the news online and you may also be one among them. It is impossible to ascertain the entire resources, as the volume of information that is available online is enormous. If you identify yourself in this situation then you are keen to know the ways to make your discovery process of news and information much easier. As this is the main issue faced by many, now you have solutions to handle this.
Many people have several sites (such as news sites and blogs) that they visit regularly. These pages often have frequent updates, making it necessarily to keep checking back to see if any new updates have been posted. Unfortunately, this quickly becomes tedious. It’s much more convenient to be automatically notified of any new updates. This is RSS’s role.
The feeds are published with the help of RSS or really simple syndication. With the help of XML, which is a machine-readable format, the site is updated and published. RSS helps you to subscribe and get all these updates in one place so that the headlines and descriptions can be browsed from your favorite news sources. This will help you to choose the one which you are interested to read fully.
The most beautiful part of it is that you can stay on top of a very large number of news sources at a single place and there is no need to remember the sources. Just you have to add the address of your site to the feed reader and it will be aggregating all the news for you. There are various options available in terms of the feed readers and you can either choose a software for installing on your computer or you can take the services of a web-based reader.
If you publish comment you will also want to learn how to publish your feed so that your audience can stay on top of your site. Most modern blogging software will provide you with the needed extensions to publish your feed. Little or no work should be required on your end besides simply enabling this functionality.
Information overload is a real and serious issue, so gathering your news in this manner can help greatly in avoiding becoming overwhelmed by the sheer amount of news stories. At the same time, you’ll have access to all the information you care about in one place, allowing you to easily scan headlines for articles you want to read in more depth.

I’ve seen many newbies fail and there are always the same mistakes they make. Despite these mistakes, every single time a person will make them perhaps even knowing them. So why the newbies are so stubborn and don’t learn from other people’s mistakes?
Perhaps it’s all due to human nature to try things and experience things by themselves. When you suspect something to be wrong but you never tried it, and your desire is big, you will most likely try it. Online business is very apt for this because it’s so easy to do things, right and wrong.
The first common mistake is jumping from one thing to another. There are many opportunities online and it’s easy to buy yet another program and learn new things. It’s also very exciting. Unfortunately, after reading a course or watching videos of a new program, newbies come across another new shiny program to play with. And the story goes on.
If we were to concentrate on one thing and actually applied the program we just took, we would achieve results. We would not dump it and for get about it. We would practice what we’ve learned and we would see the results we want. Indeed, practice makes perfect.
The other mistake is quitting too soon. When a person starts online business, they want to make money as fast as possible and quickly get discouraged if they don’t. As much as it’s hard to believe, almost always they quit when they’re about to get a momentum.
The momentum is very important. When you’re just in the very beginning, everything seems hard. But once you get the momentum, you get the hang of it and it goes effortlessly.
These look like simple to avoid. Unfortunately, most of the time they become the obstacles too hard to overcome. And to many, that means giving up without even giving it a good try.

First of all, I want you to focus on one idea. That idea is as follows. Making money online is a real business. Get that into your head and hang on to it every day. It’s a real business and should be treated as such. Yes, it’s easy to get into it, and it’s easy to get out from it, but if there’s money, there’s business.
That means quitting equals going bankrupt. No business in the world will give up easily and will fight till the end. So should you. If you’ve decided to earn money online, be serious about it and treat it like a real business.
When you live with that idea every day, anything you do will be entirely different than it was before. No more jumping from opportunity to opportunity, no more wasting money on every Internet marketing product you find.
To make a business work, you have to dedicate a lot of effort and time to it. Offline businesses work for years to turn into profit, so don’t panic if you don’t make profit the next hour you start your first campaign online. You must give it some time.
Planning and strategy is important. It’s not a feasible business if you don’t have a plan. Make a plan and stick to it till you make it work. Do whatever it takes to fulfill it.
Focus is essential key to success. If you keep jumping from one thing to another, you will not go far. Choose your thing and keep at it. Choose your mentor and work with him till you learn what they teach. Only when you finish one thing can you move on to another.
It’s not necessary to register a company legally, but if that’s what it takes for you to make a commitment, do so. It may help you to realize that you are now a real business.

The case of MailPost is a clear example of an innovative business model, whereby its Unique Selling Proposition (USP) was actually a franchisee investing and having a stake in the MailPost business, thus offering a higher level of guaranteed service than what was available through an employee or contractor model that was the norm. This USP during a GFC also became the "Achilles Heel" as recruitment of franchisees practically came to a standstill. MailPost relied on a recruitment schedule to establish the mailpost letterbox distribution service on a National basis. Whilst the CEO had a track record of positive growth and profits prior to the GFC and maintained a positive attitude towards a solution to get through the crisis, this leader was not supported but was rather asked to step aside.
Mailpost
There is no doubt that the recent Global Financial Crisis had a huge impact on many CEO's around the world whether their business was established or in a start up phase. Stress levels reached new heights for leaders as the economic pressure were felt.
Successful Leaders anticipate change, vigorously exploit opportunities, motivate their followers to higher levels of productivity, correct poor performance, and lead the organisation toward its objectives.
A review of the leadership literature, in fact, led two academics to conclude that the research shows consistent effect for leadership, explaining 20 to 45% of the variance on relevant organisational outcomes.
Training and the effectiveness of leadership programs vary. They will because the programs themselves are so diverse. Moreover, people learn in different ways. Because some leadership programs are better than others and because some people participate in programs that are poorly matched to their needs and learning style, we should expect leadership-training effectiveness to have a spotty record. So decision makers need to be careful in choosing leadership training experiences for their managers. But they shouldn't conclude that all leadership training is a waste of money.
In conclusion we say that leadership training is a more positive feature provided it is imparted to managers who have come up in the organisation to a certain level by their natural ability and the leadership training will definitely hone their skills to achieve much better performance and capable of taking higher responsibilities.

WHO WANTS TO BE A LEADER?
LEADERSHIP TRAINING - IS IT NECESSARY?
Organisations spend billions of dollars on leadership training every year. They send managers and manager-wannabes to a wide range of leadership training activities, formal MBA programs, leadership seminars, weekend retreats, and even outward bound adventures. They even appoint mentors but much of this effort to train leaders is probably a waste of money. Let's base our thoughts on looking at two fundamental assumptions that underlie leadership training.
Mailpost
The first assumption is that we think we know what leadership is?
Experts cannot agree if leadership is a genetic trait, a characteristic, a behavior, a role, a style, an ability or a learned attribute. Further, they cannot even agree on whether leaders really make a difference in organisational outcomes. For instance, some experts have persuasively argued that leadership is merely an attribution made to explain organisational successes and failures, which themselves occur by chance. Leaders are the people who get credit for successes and take the blame for failures, but they may actually have influence over organisational outcomes.
Mailpost
The second basic assumption is that we can train people to lead. The evidence here is not very encouraging. We do seem to be able to teach individuals about leadership. Unfortunately findings indicate we are not so good at teaching to lead.
Mailpost
There are several possible explanations. To the degree that personality is a critical element in leadership effectiveness; some people may not have been born with the right personality traits. A second explanation is that there is no evidence that individuals can substantially alter their basic leadership style. A third possibility is that even if certain theories could actually guide individuals in leadership situations and even if individuals could alter their style, the complexity of those make it nearly impossible for any normal human being to assimilate all the variables and be capable of enacting the right behaviors in every situation.
Mailpost
Leadership training exists, and is a multibillion-dollar industry, because it works to some degree. Most Leaders would agree that although some knowledge is gained during atraining session, for the most part it is the confidence to lead that is greatly enhanced. Leaders are decision makers which are rational and emotional beings.
Mailpost
Would a company like General Electric spend literally tens-of-millions of dollars each year on leadership training if it did not expect a handsome return? I don't think so! And the ability to lead successfully is why companies pay CEO's millions and in some case over $100 million to ensure the success of the enterprise. Under their leadership, many companies have experienced spectacular growth including shareholder gains.
Mailpost
While there are certainly disagreements over the exact definition of leadership, most academics and business people agree that leadership is an influential process whereby an individual, by his or her actions, facilitates the movement of a group of people toward the achievement of a common goal. Ensuring that the group have a culture of working together in a Team spirit and respecting their leader is of prime importance.
Mailpost
Do Leaders affect organisational outcomes in all situations?
For instance, the Global Financial Crisis (GFC) resulted in the collapse of large financial institutions, the bailout of banks by national governments and downturns in stock markets around the world. In many areas, the housing market has also suffered, resulting in numerous evictions, foreclosures and prolonged vacancies. It is considered by many economists to be the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression of the 1930s.

Mailpost
National business's like MailPost (franchised delivery Network) and many others in a start up phase launched their services during the GFC. In this case a high growth cycle practically came to a standstill. Mr Peter Kritas, the CEO and founder of MailPost Australia Limited from July 2006 till March 2009, was asked to step aside and allow new management to take over the Leadership of MailPost during a very critical period. During difficult situations, it is not uncommon to lose confidence in the Leadership and change management to try and fix the situation. This sort of behaviour should always be exercised with caution as it can do more harm than good. There are clearly some business situations that are beyond any Leaders ability to rectify and wasting time and resource in a change of management is not the best option. In many cases Leaders need more support during a crisis from their management Team to maintain confidence.
