Things You Need To Be Aware Of When Dealing With MLM Business

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

When you become involved in Internet network marketing it is important that you understand that it is a business, o point reiterated throughout this book. Many people in Internet network marketing never quite grasp the correlation between owning a Internet network marketing business and owning a traditional business. Even though the way each goes about doing business con be vastly different, the basic principle that Internet network marketing is a business never changes.

To build any successful business requires on understanding or a number of basic principles followed up with commitment and good business practices. In this section we look at some topics that will set the foundations for you to go on and build a successful Internet network marketing business (also called Internet MLM)

* Treat it like a business, not a hobby
* Make a commitment and your chances of success will increase
* Internet network marketing is a numbers game
* You may not like everything about your business
* It’s not always convenient
* Manage your time, and profitability will come to you
* Having your door open for business
* Set up a separate bank account
* Manage your money wisely

With this in mind, it is important that you treat your Internet network marketing business as it deserves to be treated. A large number of people who undertake Internet network marketing treat it like a bit of a hobby or something to dabble in, which is okay if you only want hobby results. Those who get involved for the bigger picture will be disappointed and frustrated if they don’t approach it in a committed way or give it the respect it needs.

If you have become involved in Internet network marketing in order to build a profitable business, then the first step towards new enterprise as a real business—right from day one. Not having a shopfront or a factory or a big office takes away nothing from the business itself, and in face is really mart, as overheads of that kind are what kill many businesses.

Your business has the potential to have a multi mill ion dollar turnover if that is what you wish, but that won’t happen if you operate it with a hobby attitude. We talk about setting goals and dreams later in the book, where we make the point that you can build your Internet network marketing business to give you exactly what it is you want out of life. Treat it as an opportunity that can be as big or as small as you want—but regardless of the size treat it as a business and you will be well on the way to achieving your desired goals.

INternet MLM is a business for optimistic people! Keep it in mind!

The Best Multi-Level Marketing Companies Mistaken For Pyramid Schemes

Monday, October 5th, 2009

[I:http://internet-marketing-success.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/ArtBasmajian4.jpg]It is not simple to pretend to be a good networking company, but it is doable, and some are so good at it that they can seem like the best multi-level marketing companies you would ever have the choice of joining. They offer massive payoffs with virtually no work needed to be done in a particularly short time and at minuscule investments re liquid capital. It sounds like a good plan - only it’s not. And it is not even legal.

How to Tell One from the Other

There a few things that legitimate MLMs have in common with pyramiding schemes, explaining why the really good ones can pass off as the best multi-level marketing companies :

1. Both business structures rely on a good-sized network to function well and bring in profits, so recruitment actually is really essential.

2. The basic organizational structure is also the same - upline, downline and affiliates.

3. The payout system is comparable. You get commissions from your downline’s sales and you give commissions to your upline.

But if you look closely, you will see the slight variations in these aspects :

1. While the best multi-level marketing companies will encourage you to build up your network, your profits will depend mostly on your sales and your efforts, not your downline’s. Plus, you really have a product to sell which has valuation and practical use. The recruitment process is, therefore , just a means to an end and not the point of interest of your business plan.

The main reason why MLM firms are built is to deliver products in the most productive manner possible without the need to go through nonessential parties and lose overhead costs and operational costs. The net is reasonably adept in providing the medium for this endeavor, and that’s the reason why MLM companies are flourishing.

2. Pyramid schemes are downline-heavy, while the best multi-level marketing companies would have a better-balanced organization. Again, the reason is because pyramid schemes are out to ‘funnel’ the profits from the downline to the upline and not share it all round the structure in proportional means.

If the company that you’re looking at joining is giving you obscure answers about their products, if you don’t pay their enlistment fee first, or if it looks like their products aren’t marketable ( like say, overpriced gold coins ) don’t sign up. It may not be a pyramid con, but it won’t be rewarding for you either.

3. In much the same way as your profits will come from your attempts, your downline’s efforts will accumulate to their benefit first. Even if your downline stops right after you, they will still be able to earn income because the profits do not rely on their recruitment efforts but on their selling skills. And this is what makes the best multi-level marketing companies work. There are no piggyback rides on the lower tier’s efforts, and anyone who does not like inducting can still earn cash however.

In the end, pyramid schemes will always reach a saturation level, and the ones at the lowest tier will suffer the most. The best multi-level marketing companies, on the other hand, will always attempt to give you a long and fruitful business.

Concrete Examples

There are lots of businesses that have flourished with the MLM structure or system. Look at corporations like Avon, Tupperware, Sara Lee, and Mary Kay. You’ll notice that these firms have big name brands and quality products to sell, and you do not need to enlist members to earn money from their business plans. These are the hallmarks of the best multi-level marketing companies, which is why they’ve been around a long time.

A Network Marketing Business And Attraction Marketing?

Friday, August 14th, 2009

If you are building an MLM business opportunity on the internet it would seem that you are talking about Attraction marketing. This is causing a huge change to network marketing, but many folks still don’t really understand what it means to attract business partners, rather than go out and “hunt” them down (so to speak). In this article, we show with an example, what attraction marketing really is, and more importantly what it can do for you.

Say you have a website somewhere, it might belong to a community or it might be your own. You have photos on there (it might be on FaceBook) of your hobbies and passions or your family, anything you like. On this page, you also have a link to your MLM home business , with a little advert on the page telling individuals what you do.

Along comes someone looking to join your company and he finds the link on your page. He’s been searching for a sponsor because he’s done his research on the company and the product, and really wants to join this company. However, he hasn’t had much luck finding a suitable sponsor, but when he comes across your page, he is attracted to your pictures and your values. Your personality is displayed on your page because of the things you say on that site, and the pictures you’ve posted. This is how folks can get to know you on the internet .

This company he wants to join has one of those internet powerline systems, and he joins a couple to see if he can get to know some sponsors. However, no-one calls him and he tries to call them, but no answer. He looks for them on the internet and can’t find anything about them, so he can’t even get to know their passions and hobbies.

Then, he comes across your page telling folks all about yourself, and he reads about you, and looks at your pictures. He gets to know you just from reading and looking at the pictures of you scuba diving and singing on stage. This guy loves the Rolling stones himself and is fascinated by the ocean, even though he’s never been diving before. You have a blog which talks about your company, but it doesn’t just advertise the company, you actually talk in your “own voice” so folks can get to know you.

One day you log into your company site back office, and see this person has signed up under you and has a couple of other individuals signed up already. He has purchased products, and so have his members, so it looks promising. You give him a call on your Voice Over IP system and make contact with him. Both of you talk easily and he sounds like a real leader, and very serious about succeeding in organization. He has already built a big organization with another network marketing company, but wants to change over now.

As time goes on, this mystery guy sponsors more and more individuals, and all of a sudden you’re at the next pin level in your company. Then, he and one of his leaders opens up a new country for your company. This takes a long time, and you all work pretty hard, but it is worth it. When the company is launched, hundreds of folks purchase the product and you move up 3 pin levels, just in that month.

Your life changes dramatically, now you start traveling to the other side of the world, to meet up with your new business partners. Now you can start doing more of the things you love doing, and you start attracting many other folks in the same way.

This is what attraction marketing is all about. You put your stuff out there online and others are attracted to it. This “stuff” could be about your products or (more importantly) what problems your products can solve for folks . And the more things you share about yourself, the more your business grows, and the more money you make from your Network Marketing Business.

Multilevel Marketing: a Sexy Profession With a Bad Rap?

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

A lot of people who hear the words “multilevel marketing” run screaming in fear of being scammed, or at least, being part of a scam. This could be due to the negative publicity that mlm marketing has been receiving to date. The notoriety of this business model (which is legitimate, by the way) springs mostly from the few rotten apples (read: pyramid scheme) that have made it into the multilevel marketing barrel.

One thing is certain: the main difference between the two is that mlm marketing is a legitimate business model, while pyramiding scheme IS a scam and IS definitely illegal - not to mention immoral and downright dirty. In layman’s terms, multilevel marketing is a highly social business model that seeks to cut out the middle man and lower the overhead cost, so that the end consumer isn’t paying for the storefront’s operation expenses, including labor, utilities, and even the traditional advertising media. Pyramiding schemes, on the other hand, will want you to invest your money on the possibility of big rewards for small amounts, but is actually just a transfer of money from the “downline” to the “upline” (to be explained later).

Too Good To Be True

If it’s too good to be true, then it’s more than likely that it is a pyramid scam. Just like a wolf in sheep’s clothing, pyramiding schemes mask themselves as legitimate mlm marketing businesses. Pyramiding schemes uses the same techniques and also the same processes in building a network.

The similarities between the two are that you have to sell a product and create a “marketing network” while you’re at it. Then there’s the deal with the “upline” and “downline.” You will either be sponsored by the “upline”, or you get to sponsor a “downline.” The advantage of the “upline” is that they get commissions from the “downline.” The one idea that would lead you to think that you are in a lawful multilevel marketing venture is that getting commissions from your “downline” is just akin to getting bonuses, while most of your profits come from your own hard work.

To Enter the Market

Multilevel marketing is a relatively easy business to get into, sometimes for investments as low as $29, which is in no way saying that it’s an easy business to thrive in. On the plus side of the equation, it is a very flexible business environment. You can stay at home all day in your jammies and still make a decent enough living. Formal education isn’t even necessary, but a bit of techno savvy does help.

MLM Marketing: Network Your Way to a New Life

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

These days, holding down two jobs is often a necessity - that is, if you can even find one job, let alone two. But the bills have to be paid and the kids have to be fed, sheltered, and sent to school. Instead of waiting in line for a low paying job, why not create an opportunity for yourself? The answer to your problem could be found in mlm marketing.

Don’t turn your nose up at it, or shy away from it (or run screaming in fear) because network marketing is a genuine and legal enterprise. It is not some fly-by-night operation that some people have made it out to be.

So what’s the deal?

From its name alone, network marketing is as what it says it is. It is about creating a web of entrepreneurs that will sell a product or a service to a consumer at the least possible amount.

It’s a lot like the fish from the market, actually. The fisherman has to go out and catch the fish then sell it to vendors who would then sell it in the marketplace for the consumer to buy.

The price of the fish is considerably higher by the time it reaches the consumer. To lessen the cost, why not go buy the fish directly from the fishermen? This is the goal of network marketing - cut out the middleman to reduce the costs.

The Upside and the Downside

MLM marketing is not a get-rich-quick scheme, so don’t expect it to be an easy one, either. Getting into network marketing is not hard. At most, all you need is a little capital, a bit of training, and a lot of help from friends and family. Most mlm marketing structures have them as the core group or the base group.

The good thing is that they are easy to access. The bad thing is that your network can’t rely solely on them, if at all. Think of them as training ground, but move on - and quickly.

Is MLM Marketing For You?

Well, it depends. Network marketing won’t be an easy ride. There will be failures in every success, but you have to weather through all of them to reach your goal. Read up on mlm marketing groups so you’ll know how the others are doing and if you can adapt their strategies for your own good. Take the first step and try.

Mailpost The case of MailPost is a clear example of an innovative business model, whereby its Unique Selling Proposition (USP) was actually a franchisee investing and having a stake in the MailPost business, thus offering a higher level of guaranteed service than what was available through an employee or contractor model that was the norm. This USP during a GFC also became the "Achilles Heel" as recruitment of franchisees practically came to a standstill. MailPost relied on a recruitment schedule to establish the mailpost letterbox distribution service on a National basis. Whilst the CEO had a track record of positive growth and profits prior to the GFC and maintained a positive attitude towards a solution to get through the crisis, this leader was not supported but was rather asked to step aside. Mailpost There is no doubt that the recent Global Financial Crisis had a huge impact on many CEO's around the world whether their business was established or in a start up phase. Stress levels reached new heights for leaders as the economic pressure were felt. Successful Leaders anticipate change, vigorously exploit opportunities, motivate their followers to higher levels of productivity, correct poor performance, and lead the organisation toward its objectives. A review of the leadership literature, in fact, led two academics to conclude that the research shows consistent effect for leadership, explaining 20 to 45% of the variance on relevant organisational outcomes. Training and the effectiveness of leadership programs vary. They will because the programs themselves are so diverse. Moreover, people learn in different ways. Because some leadership programs are better than others and because some people participate in programs that are poorly matched to their needs and learning style, we should expect leadership-training effectiveness to have a spotty record. So decision makers need to be careful in choosing leadership training experiences for their managers. But they shouldn't conclude that all leadership training is a waste of money. In conclusion we say that leadership training is a more positive feature provided it is imparted to managers who have come up in the organisation to a certain level by their natural ability and the leadership training will definitely hone their skills to achieve much better performance and capable of taking higher responsibilities. --------------------------------

LEADERSHIP TRAINING - IS IT NECESSARY? Organisations spend billions of dollars on leadership training every year. They send managers and manager-wannabes to a wide range of leadership training activities, formal MBA programs, leadership seminars, weekend retreats, and even outward bound adventures. They even appoint mentors but much of this effort to train leaders is probably a waste of money. Let's base our thoughts on looking at two fundamental assumptions that underlie leadership training. Mailpost The first assumption is that we think we know what leadership is? Experts cannot agree if leadership is a genetic trait, a characteristic, a behavior, a role, a style, an ability or a learned attribute. Further, they cannot even agree on whether leaders really make a difference in organisational outcomes. For instance, some experts have persuasively argued that leadership is merely an attribution made to explain organisational successes and failures, which themselves occur by chance. Leaders are the people who get credit for successes and take the blame for failures, but they may actually have influence over organisational outcomes. Mailpost The second basic assumption is that we can train people to lead. The evidence here is not very encouraging. We do seem to be able to teach individuals about leadership. Unfortunately findings indicate we are not so good at teaching to lead. Mailpost There are several possible explanations. To the degree that personality is a critical element in leadership effectiveness; some people may not have been born with the right personality traits. A second explanation is that there is no evidence that individuals can substantially alter their basic leadership style. A third possibility is that even if certain theories could actually guide individuals in leadership situations and even if individuals could alter their style, the complexity of those make it nearly impossible for any normal human being to assimilate all the variables and be capable of enacting the right behaviors in every situation. Mailpost Leadership training exists, and is a multibillion-dollar industry, because it works to some degree. Most Leaders would agree that although some knowledge is gained during atraining session, for the most part it is the confidence to lead that is greatly enhanced. Leaders are decision makers which are rational and emotional beings. Mailpost Would a company like General Electric spend literally tens-of-millions of dollars each year on leadership training if it did not expect a handsome return? I don't think so! And the ability to lead successfully is why companies pay CEO's millions and in some case over $100 million to ensure the success of the enterprise. Under their leadership, many companies have experienced spectacular growth including shareholder gains. Mailpost While there are certainly disagreements over the exact definition of leadership, most academics and business people agree that leadership is an influential process whereby an individual, by his or her actions, facilitates the movement of a group of people toward the achievement of a common goal. Ensuring that the group have a culture of working together in a Team spirit and respecting their leader is of prime importance. Mailpost Do Leaders affect organisational outcomes in all situations? For instance, the Global Financial Crisis (GFC) resulted in the collapse of large financial institutions, the bailout of banks by national governments and downturns in stock markets around the world. In many areas, the housing market has also suffered, resulting in numerous evictions, foreclosures and prolonged vacancies. It is considered by many economists to be the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression of the 1930s. Mailpost It contributed to the failure of key businesses, declines in consumer wealth, substantial financial commitments incurred by governments, and a significant decline in economic activity. Many causes have been proposed, with varying weight assigned by experts. Both market-based and regulatory solutions have been implemented or are under consideration, while significant risks remain for the world economy over the 2010-2011 periods. Mailpost National business's like MailPost (franchised delivery Network) and many others in a start up phase launched their services during the GFC. In this case a high growth cycle practically came to a standstill. Mr Peter Kritas, the CEO and founder of MailPost Australia Limited from July 2006 till March 2009, was asked to step aside and allow new management to take over the Leadership of MailPost during a very critical period. During difficult situations, it is not uncommon to lose confidence in the Leadership and change management to try and fix the situation. This sort of behaviour should always be exercised with caution as it can do more harm than good. There are clearly some business situations that are beyond any Leaders ability to rectify and wasting time and resource in a change of management is not the best option. In many cases Leaders need more support during a crisis from their management Team to maintain confidence.
