Keyword Research Tools That Bring In the Money Keywords For Your PPC Campaigns

Sunday, August 16th, 2009

Anyone doing business or thinking about launching an internet website to make money or draw traffic online has heard of keywords. Using a search-based keyword research tool correctly can boost your traffic when used right. The concept is easy for most to understand, but without thorough knowledge of how it works and utilizing all of the resources that go along with it, you could be spinning your wheels. Here are tips on how keyword tools are highly beneficial.

The luxury of a search-based keyword tool is it is designed to give you a higher search engine ranking on the top sites by providing you with relative keywords for your website. It takes the time consuming task and guessing away, putting the information at your fingertips instantly. The advantages it offers you in generating higher volumes of traffic.

There are several keyword research tools. When you search online you will see free tools, and some sites have a free tool with other paid services. There is also software to help you manage your keywords and keyword phrases that will make it easier for you once you get started.

When shopping through the resources, get familiar with tools that offer a variety of services other rather than just helping you pick relevant keywords.

Most of the keyword tools also provide other pertinent suggestions. This includes how many times the keyword is being used by your competition. Keyword tools will also let you know how many times in a particular timeframe the keyword was searched by shoppers.

This gives you an idea on how popular the keyword is. If the competitive usage is high, you can look for similar, popular keywords that not very many businesses are using so you won’t get lost in the crowd.

It doesn’t matter what type of internet marketing you are planning on using. A search-based keyword research tool can provide keyword phrases for sales page titles, landing pages, email campaign content, web page content, and blogs.

If you are writing press releases or distributing articles, a keyword tool can help you identify relative keywords tailored to you story or industry that will list you higher on the search engine rankings and boost traffic. This in itself is a excellent tool for gaining new customers.

A search-based keyword research tool allows you to keep the competitive edge and gives you the flexibility to keep us with shopping trends and keywords used to help maintain and continue boosting traffic and profits.

The Drawbacks in Pay Per Click Marketing

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

Aside from its popularity, pay per click marketing indeed looks promising when it comes to earning good profit online. From high volume of traffic to your site, to getting good placements on the paid listings on search engines of course, these are things a business would want to have online to get maximum profit, but what about its drawbacks? Why do some PPC campaigns fail?

Let it be known that this advertising called pay per click does have some serious issues, and it is important that business owners should know about these issues and pitfalls.

To easily understand pay per click and its drawbacks, below are the major issues that should be kept in mind to avoid failures in pay per click.

● Cost. Implementing a pay per click campaign can hurt your budget if not properly done and if not being careful with it. In Yahoo! for example, setting your campaign to ‘auto bid’ might give you more harm than good, as it automatically increases your bid to maintain your rankings. In PPC, you might also be competing for a keyword which will not give you your targeted results.

● Hard to measure the Return on Investment (ROI). In pay per click, you need to determine how many of the clicks to your website have been converted to sales of your product, and determining the revenue you gain per investment on PPC may be difficult. Conversion tracker may however be helpful on this aspect.

● Useless traffic. Yes, pay per click may bring you large volume of traffic in an instant but are these the people you need for your business? In pay per click, it is wise to get good traffic from major search engines to attract targeted audience. But somehow, in PPC, there is traffic that is not helpful in your campaign.

● This marketing initiative will not scale. This means that the moment your site gets more traffic, you pat more money and cost per click is the same but overall cost will definitely increase.

These reasons should drive you to be cautious when dealing with marketing thru pay per click. For sure this kind of advertising will help, if done responsibly.

How to Create Your Google AdWords Campaign

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009

Among advertising networks on the internet, Google Adwords is still the biggest player on PPC advertising. Figure out how to use Google Adwords and you can get a great deal of targeted traffic back to your site or blog. Having an understanding of Google Adwords’ system is but one part of the equation of Pay Per Click Advertising. The major part of PPC advertising is centered around the strategies employed to produce a successful campaign.

There are basic principles that everyone must follow to use Google Adwords efficiently regardless of one’s product and market. Follow these procedures to help you set up an effective AdWords campaign.

1. Set-up your account with the Adword’s Wizard. A beginner will find it easy to set-up a google adwords account using the wizard. The wizard will show you the basics of all your account management tools.

2. Produce effective ads. Each component of your ad must follow a particular formula for it to be effective: A keyword or keyphrase must be used in the headline. State a benefit by the second line. Mention special promotions or product features in the third line. Finally, the fourth line must contain a URL link back to your landing page or website. This proven formula is taught by best-selling adWords strategy books; such as Perry Marshall’s “The Ultimate Guide to Google Adwords” and Peter Kent’s “Pay per Click Search Engine Marketing for Dummies”.

3. Use the right keywords. Google provides users with a robust Keyword Selector tool that allows you to generate lists of highly targeted keywords and keyphrases related to your niche. Explore this tool as much as possible when you are setting up your campaign, and even when you are looking for appropriate keywords for your website or blog.

4. Find out how to do keyword matching. You can conduct broad matches, phrase matches and exact matches inside Google’s keyword selection tool for your collection of keywords. This allows you to get additional relevant keywords for your campaigns. There is also a feature tied with Adwords called negative match. Negative match allows you to specify words that when entered by someone searching google, will not result in your ad running in the person’s web browser.

5. Set up your budget. One of the biggest benefits of using Google Adwords is the ability to set up your own budget. You can enter in the total amount you want to spend each day and Google will deduct this balance from your account. Start small and slowly increase your budget amount as you start monitoring results from your campaign. As you begin to generate traffic, you’ll be able to calculate exactly how much it costs to get the type of traffic you want, and even identify which keywords actually lead to a sale or conversion.

Expert Advice from Adwords Management Service Co-CEO

Monday, May 25th, 2009

As Co-CEO of one of the leading Adwords Management Services I absolutely hate to see people get ripped off by adwords management services that don’t live up to the golden rules of adwords management. Not only do these certain companies hurt their clients but they also hurt the entire adwords management industry by giving the rest of us a bad reputation. I am writing this article to show you exactly what to look for so you won’t get burned by sorry, so called “adwords management”. I will show you exactly what to look for so you can be sure to find a top-of the-line adwords management service.

There are 5 specific, very important things you must look for when selecting a quality adwords management service. While it can be quite complicated to understand these 5 critical things or processes rather, I will tell you exactly what questions to ask so that you will find an adwords management service that is truly professional and on top of the adwords game. True Adwords professionals can answer the following questions. Be sure to ask and get answers to all of these questions before you dare outsource your adwords management. If the adwords management service representative can answer these 5 questions with answers similar or identical to the ones below, I’d say you are in good hands.

Do You Offer Split Testing? What is the importance of it? Firstly, the rep should of course answer. “Yes” to the fist part of this question. Split testing is a vital part of successful adwords management. Split testing is extremely important because it helps find which ads are most effective and which ads draw in the most clicks. It also helps decrease click costs because Google rewards better performing ads with lower click costs and higher ad placement.

How do you organize my adwords campaigns? Adwords campaigns should be organized and totally rearranged so that the keywords are divided into very closely knit, relevant adgroups. It is important that the top performing keywords are put into adgroups of their own in order to achieve perfect relevancy.

What steps do you take to Optimize my Ads? Don’t be fooled if a rep says, “We know exactly which headlines convert the best and we know how to write professional ad copy. Blah blah blah..” That is crap. Optimizing ads mean insuring the keyword searched on shows up 3 times in the ad; once in the headline, once in the ad text and once in the display URL. Google rewards these kinds of ads with higher ad placement and lower click costs. Google loves relevancy. Also Insure that the adwords management service writes a specific ad for each keyword you have. Anything less is simply lazy.

How Do You Adjust My Bidding? What’s the most efficient form of bidding in Google adwords right now? Its definitely bidding using Google’s Conversion Optimizer. If they don’t mention anything about that then guess what? That adwords management service is officially out-dated! Any professional adwords management service knows bid management with Google’s Conversion optimizer is the way to go. Nothing else beats it.

What Continuing education does your staff go through? You’d better believe continuing education is a huge part of successful adwords management. The Google Adwords world is always changing. If you’re not consistently studying and spending money on research then you will quickly fall behind. The most advanced adwords management services spend tens of thousands of dollars on continuing education. Don’t be afraid to ask for proof of continuing education. After all it is you money at risk.

Tips on Pay Per Click Marketing

Saturday, April 11th, 2009

Pay per click (PPC) marketing is one of the major online advertising strategies that most marketing companies are offering online. Others include SEO or Search Engine Optimization and SEM or Search Engine Marketing.

Understanding these online advertising techniques may seem complex and hard at first. However, you can start with some basic tips that you can follow if you want to use PPC in promoting your business.

First off, you need to start with knowing your business, your goals, and your competitors.

Research is also required when doing pay per click marketing. This is essential in choosing your keywords. These should be words or phrases that once typed in the search box, will make your ad appear at the top of the search engine list. This is one way of generating a large number of online users to get to visit your site.

If you are a company that is looking for websites to display your advertisements, you should use targeted advertising through pay per click. This means you should have a list of websites that will pop up if the keyword for your item for sale is searched for. You can find a detailed list of these websites in companies offering online marketing tools.

Next thing is to decide on how to pay for your ads. In PPC marketing, it is advisable to pay only for clicks from unique users.

This means that clicks to your ad does not always mean a customer is interested to your product. Mechanical ways to manipulate clicks also exist in the internet. So make sure you are paying for the right thing.

Lastly, the best tip for Pay Per Click marketing is to set a maximum amount that you can pay. Although there is an average rate in the industry, you are still a customer and many websites will be willing to accept low rates of advertisements through the pay per click program.

In addition, it is equally important to keep track of your advertisements and the traffic coming into your website. This will signal you to change or improve your strategies.

Tips on Finding Good PPC Marketing Services

Before pay per click came out in 2002, online marketing has a different face. Online advertisers usually settled with pop ups but later came as unappealing to online users. With this, the introduction of pay per click gave a different avenue for advertisers, and pay per click experts are polishing their expertise on this strategy with the promises of providing huge advertising success.

Pay per click marketing offers what businessmen are seeking for their businesses. However, it is a fact that some businessmen who wants to venture into online advertising are not familiar with the techniques of the craft that made them lose large sums of money and not even get closer to their desired results.

Below you will find several tips in what to look for from these supposedly experts in the pay per click industry.

Expertise in Search Engine Optimization

The success of pay per click marketing relies heavily on an expert knowledge of search engine optimization or SEO. Thus, a pay per click expert should also be an expert in SEO.

Pay per click is essentially about directing traffic of online web surfers. If you will advertise on websites with very less patronage, it is very likely that you will not generate big sales. Even if these visitors are serious buyers, you are only reaching out to a very small percentage of the market.

One important consideration in advertising online is to advertise on websites that have high rankings in search engines. These are websites that appear at the top of the lists when certain keywords are typed in the search box. The target is to advertise on these types of sites that are relevant to your business.

Marketing Management Campaign Strategies

In choosing a company that provides pay per click management, make sure that the company has updated and latest approaches towards online advertising. Check how dynamic is the company in dealing with the fast-changing ways of web advertising.

Make sure that there are also alternative ways offered by the company if problems may arise with one strategy. In addition, the company should also be able to weld a working relationship with you and the websites that will promote your product.

Your campaign for advertising should be maximized based on strategy and not on random results.

How Google Adwords Works?

Sunday, April 5th, 2009

Google Adwords is a tough beast. This beast is very difficult to master. But if you can master it, you have hit a goldmine. Dont simply just head over and start a Google Adwords account. Learn to tame this beast before you start your first advertising campaign on Adwords.

What you need to know is that Google will never let you advertise on its system with a poor Click Through Rate (CTR). CTR is very important for the success of your campaign is the number of clicks in 100 impressions your ad will receive. Learn good copy writing skills to write ads that attracts people. Always try to keep a CTR of at least 2% in your campaign.

The most important matrix for you to understand is the Quality Score. Google never tells how Quality Score is calculated exactly but gives you general guidelines. Good QS means very low minimum bid for each click. Quality Score can be Great, OK or Poor. If Quality Score is great, Google can charge you $0.02-0.04 as a minimum bid for your ad to become active.

Quality Score primarily depends on your website. Google likes to see a website that is relevant to the keyword that it is being advertised. If Google thinks that your website is relevant, it will assign your website a great quality score.

Optimize your website before you make a new campaign. Use some SEO. Google likes SEO. Be careful, once Google assigns a quality score to your website, it will not change its opinion afterwards.

First optimize each page of your site for one particular keyword. You will need to do some SEO for that. Only when you are satisfied that your site is relevant, make a new campaign using the optimized page for that keyword. Google likes to see quality content being advertised on its site and does not want to see poor website being advertised. Poor websites means poor user experience that harms Google in the long run.

Ad Rank is another matrix that you need to know. Ad Rank= (CTR) (Your Bid) (Quality Score). You can see; CTR and Quality Score are very important for your success. There is a quality score for each campaign as well as a general quality score of your Google Adwords Account.

Google also maintains a quality score of your general account. Your overall CTR in the account should never ever fall below 1% in my opinion. If your account gets assigned a poor quality score, it will affect your new campaign as well and if your account has a great quality score, Google will reward you more by assigning very low minimum bids for new campaigns as well. Be careful!

But even if you do every thing right, doesnt mean that you are on safer ground. Your can get Google Slap anytime. No one knows the exact reasons for a Google Slap. Google Slap is the way Google uses to tell you to buzz off and dont use Google anymore. Learn to beat Google at its own game with Google Ambush!
